Red Ribbon at Central OfficeRed Ribbon Week is an alcohol, tobacco, and other drug and violence prevention awareness campaign observed annually in October in the United States.

Did you know that children of parents who talk to their teens regularly about drugs are 42% less likely to use drugs than those who don't, yet only a quarter of teens report having these conversations.

Schools in Dawson County will celebrate this week by talking to students about why it is important to say no to drugs and alcohol. Several schools will encourage student participation in themed "dress-up" days to show their spirit against drugs and alcohol.

Find an opportunity to talk to your child about the risks and dangers of drugs and alcohol.
